Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) stated that Sri Lanka welcomed 174,608 tourists in April 2025, marking a 17.3% increase compared to March 2024.

This brings the total tourist arrivals for the first 4 months of 2025 to 896,884.

India remained the top source market in April with 38,744 visitors, making up 22.2% of total arrivals.

The UK, Russia, Germany, and Australia also contributed significantly to 17,348, 13,525, 11,654, and 10,744 visitors, respectively.

Tourism authorities are optimistic about continued growth in the sector throughout the year.
