- Official tour to focus on bilateral ties, trade, and SL community engagement
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath is scheduled to undertake an official visit to New Zealand and Australia from tomorrow (26) to 3 June 2026 at the invitation of the two Governments.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Minister Herath is expected to hold bilateral discussions with his counterparts, Winston Peters of New Zealand and Penny Wong of Australia.
He is also scheduled to meet senior Government representatives, officials, business leaders, academics, think tanks, and members of the Sri Lankan community living in both countries.
A key event during the New Zealand visit will be the ceremonial opening of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Wellington.
The Ministry stated that the visit is expected to further strengthen Sri Lanka’s longstanding relations with both countries and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
