The Sri Lanka Junior International Badminton Series 2025 commenced with a grand opening ceremony at the New Saniro Sports Complex in Naiwala, Gampaha on Monday (4) morning.
The four-day international event, where leading badminton-playing nations are taking part, was declared open by Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) President Roshan Gunawardena as the chief guest, with the presence of other distinguished guests.
The tournament features competitions across Under-19, Under-17, Under-15, and Under-13 age categories, with matches being held in Boys and Girls in Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
All games will be conducted in line with BWF’s official laws and regulations. Beyond its international prestige, the event holds significant value for Sri Lanka’s own aspiring shuttlers, who will have the opportunity to face off against elite global talent and gain invaluable exposure to world-class competition.
With BWF ranking points at stake, local players stand to benefit from enhanced recognition on the international stage.
