President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed officials to ensure Sri Lankan migrant workers receive all eligible government welfare assistance without delays or unnecessary obstacles.
The directive was issued during a meeting with Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment officials at the Presidential Secretariat to review welfare programmes, including housing schemes, loan facilities and duty-free concessions.
The President also stressed the need to maintain an accurate, updated database of Sri Lankans employed overseas to improve the delivery of welfare services.
