The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the list of 20 match officials who will officiate in the League Round of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Sixteen umpires have been selected for the 13th edition of the tournament, which includes all 12 members of the ‘Emirates Elite Panel’ of ICC Umpires and four members of the ‘ICC Emerging Umpire Panel’.
The umpires are Chris Brown, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shaid, Rod Tucker, Alex Wharf, Joel Wilson, and Paul Wilson.
Among the selected umpires are three of the four who officiated the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 final at Lord’s: Dharmasena, Erasmus, and Tucker. Aleem Dar, the fourth official from that final, has stepped down from the Elite Panel.
The Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees will be represented at the event by former international cricketers Jeff Crowe, Andy Pycroft, Richie Richardson, and Javagal Srinath.
Javagal Srinath will officiate the tournament opener between England and New Zealand on October 5 in Ahmedabad. Nitin Menon and Kumar Dharmasena will be the standing umpires, with Paul Wilson as the TV umpire, and Saikat taking on fourth umpire duties.
The match officials have been named for the entire League segment, with appointments for the semi-finals and final to be announced later.

Sean Easey, ICC Manager – Umpires and Referees, noted that this group of officials is the best from around the world and will be prepared for the challenging task of overseeing the tournament, which promises to be a World Cup to remember.
