Under the “Nation United – National Drive” campaign, nearly 800 individuals were arrested yesterday (27) in a major effort to combat drug-related issues across Sri Lanka.
According to the Police Media Division, 799 suspects were apprehended during 805 raids conducted nationwide.
Investigations into illegally acquired assets have been initiated against two individuals, with further inquiries ongoing for eight others under detention.
As part of the operation, nine drug addicts were referred for rehabilitation.
Police also seized significant quantities of drugs, including 383 grams of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) and 287 grams of heroin, among other narcotics.
