The Sri Lankan government has approved the development of multimodal transport hubs to improve public transport efficiency and connectivity between buses, trains, and rental vehicles.
Feasibility studies at key railway stations and bus terminals have guided the selection of priority hubs, including Kandy, Anuradhapura (North & South), Colombo Fort, Moratuwa, Ragama, Avissawella, Galle, Katunayake, Kurunegala, Kampaha, Kalutara, and Kankasanturai.
The initiative aims to streamline urban and intercity travel, ensure seamless transport integration, and enhance public transport services across the country.
