Sri Lanka Customs seized 1,612 cartons of foreign cigarettes and 10 bottles of whisky hidden in furniture and personal goods at a warehouse in Colombo 09.

The consignment, valued at over Rs. 119 million, including duty, had arrived from Dubai and was consigned to a Panadura resident.

According to reports, the goods were forfeited and a Rs. 500,000 fine was imposed on the suspect.
