U.S. Ambassador Julie Jiyoon Chung met Prime Minister (PM) Harini Amarasuriya at the Sri Lankan Parliament to discuss expanding educational and cultural partnerships between the two countries.

Ambassador Chung highlighted ongoing Peace Corps efforts and the Fulbright Program, which supports global academic exchange.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya emphasized the need for technical expertise in key education institutions to support reforms aimed at moving from exam-focused learning to a more collaborative, formative system.

Senior officials from both sides participated, including representatives from the U.S. Embassy, the Fulbright Commission, and Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
