A 23 year old youth has tragically died after drowning in a hotel swimming pool in the Kandawala area of Katana.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Maskeliya, Maussakelle. 

Preliminary investigations conducted by Katana Police have revealed that the victim drowned while swimming with several friends at the hotel pool.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
