Veteran Sri Lankan artist, Virindu vocalist and dance instructor Daya Nellampitiya has passed away at the age of 91.

Family sources stated that she passed away at her residence in Kalubowila.

Nellampitiya served as a dance instructor at several leading schools and played a role in preserving and teaching Kandyan dance traditions to generations of students.

Her final rites are scheduled to be held tomorrow (15), according to family sources.
