The Cabinet has approved gazetting and tabling the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill in Parliament following clearance by the Attorney General.

The amendments introduce tax reforms to support revenue-based fiscal consolidation under the Inland Revenue Act No. 24 of 2017.

The proposal was presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
