• Take umbrage over Postmaster Gen.’s allegation on OT fraud 

Postal trade unions (TUs) stated that they had planned to submit a formal complaint yesterday (9) to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) regarding the allegations made by the Postmaster General that postal employees had fraudulently claimed overtime (OT) payments.

Yesterday marked the 151st World Post Day. The national ceremony to mark the day was scheduled to take place last morning at the Badulla Postal Complex Auditorium, under the patronage of the Minister of Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. 

The postal TUs had announced that postal workers would report to duty yesterday wearing black armbands, in protest of the said statement made by the Postmaster General.
