The Cabinet has approved instructing the Legal Draftsman to prepare the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute Bill.

The bill will give the Institute powers to operate effectively and sustainably as the central body for insurance education and training.

Passing its examinations is required to qualify as a licensed insurance agent under the Insurance Industry Regulation Act.
