Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been discharged from the National Hospital, Colombo, after his health improved. 

He was moved from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a regular ward this morning before being released. 

His legal counsel had informed the court of his life-threatening health condition, which included blocked arteries and a lung infection.
