The August 2026 elderly allowance is scheduled to be credited to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries today (3) under the Aswesuma Welfare Benefit Payment Scheme.

A total of Rs. 3.091 billion will be paid to 618,352 senior citizens aged over 70 covered under the first phase of the programme.

Meanwhile, Rs. 391.3 million will be credited to 78,260 senior citizens aged over 70 covered under the second phase.

Eligible beneficiaries can withdraw the allowance from their Aswesuma bank accounts from today.
