03 Feb 2025

The eagerly-anticipated One World One Family Cup is set to unveil its second edition on 8 February, at the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, Karnataka.

This high-energy T20 extravaganza between cricketing powerhouses India and Sri Lanka goes beyond the sport – it is a movement for change, inspired by the ancient Indian ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, meaning ‘One World, One Family’.

Organised by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission, the cup underscores the mission’s commitment to uplifting humanity through free nutrition, education, and healthcare services.

Under the theme ‘Cricket for a Cause’, this event harnesses the global appeal of cricket to drive vital humanitarian initiatives.

The match will not only showcase top drawer cricketing action, but also highlight the power of sports in uniting people across borders for a greater purpose.

India and Sri Lanka, two nations with a storied cricketing rivalry, will take center stage in a contest that embodies sportsmanship, unity, and compassion.

Cricket fans and humanitarian supporters alike are invited to witness this unique encounter, where the spirit of the game meets the spirit of giving.

Among well-known former players from India to be featured in this cricketing fiesta will be Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Venkatesh Prasad, Sunil Joshi, and Parthiv Patel.

The ex-stars from Sri Lanka who will be involved in this showpiece are 1996 World Cup-winning skipper Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravinda de Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan, T.M. Dilshan, Chaminda Vaas, Upul Tharanga, Ravindra Pushpakumara, Ajantha Mendis, Romesh Kaluvitharana, Nuwan Zoysa, and Thisara Perera.
