Sri Lankan naval officer awarded ‘Sword of Honour’ at Pakistan Naval Academy

An Officer of the Sri Lanka Navy, Midshipman Tennakoon M.L. Vimukthi, has earned the prestigious Sword of Honour at the 122nd Midshipmen and 30th Short Service Commission (SSC) Course Commissioning Parade held at the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) in Karachi.


The ceremony marked the commissioning of 49 midshipmen and 29 SSC cadets, including trainees from Sri Lanka and Iraq.


Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu, the chief guest, praised the PNA’s high-quality training programs and emphasised the importance of international camaraderie among cadets from friendly nations like Sri Lanka. He urged the officers to stay abreast of technological and geopolitical advancements in the modern era.


Midshipman Vimukthi’s achievement is considered a milestone for the Sri Lankan Navy, inspiring future officers and highlighting the nation’s growing recognition in international military circles.
