Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa called for stronger UK-Sri Lanka ties during the UK-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Association event at Sri Lanka’s Parliament.
He highlighted the UK's historical contributions to Sri Lanka’s development, particularly through programs like the Department for International Development (DFID), and urged further assistance to address Sri Lanka’s current economic challenges.
Accordingly, he also encouraged British investments, reaffirming full support for projects across the country.
The event emphasised deepening cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations and foster shared prosperity.
