A three-wheeler driver and a passenger died following a head-on collision with a double-cab on the A6 road in Doratiyawa, Kurunegala, this morning (15).

The cab, heading from Dambulla to Kurunegala, also struck a motorcycle after colliding with the three-wheeler.

Police confirmed that the driver and a passenger of the three-wheeler succumbed to injuries upon admission to Kurunegala Hospital.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the cab driver was under the influence of alcohol and has been arrested.

Further investigations are ongoing.
