A boat capsized today (6) at Gurunagar Jetty in Jaffna, It is reported that the vessel was carrying a group of pilgrims en route to the Palaitivu Festival.

Reports indicate that several individuals drowned in the incident. 

Currently, rescue operations are ongoing. So far, two people have died, and five others have been rescued. Hospital sources confirmed that the condition of the three injured persons admitted to hospital remains critical.

The boat was carrying 25 pilgrims, and efforts are underway to locate the remaining 15 individuals who are still missing.
