Sri Lanka’s judiciary marked a milestone by conducting its first fully paperless hearing at the Supreme Court on 26 March.
The case was heard before Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, using a completely digital case file instead of printed documents.
This move is part of the ‘e-Court’ initiative, aimed at modernising the judicial system and enabling electronic case filing.
The case has been postponed to 14 May, 2026.
