The Department of Meteorology stated that mainly dry weather will prevail over most parts of the island today (22).

Showers or thundershowers may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, and Nuwara Eliya district after 1.00 p.m.

Misty conditions are expected in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, and in Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Kurunegala districts during early morning hours.

The public is advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
