The Sri Lanka Police has launched an investigation into a tense situation between police officers and Sri Lanka Air Force personnel in Kalpitiya.

Police officers were conducting a raid at the Kalpitiya seashore to seize suspected smuggled goods when the incident occurred.

Officials said Air Force personnel at the site claimed the area was under their jurisdiction, leading to a dispute.
