The Colombo Magistrate's Court has directed former MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena to submit a fresh affidavit in support of his request to temporarily lift his overseas travel ban.

The court said the affidavit previously submitted was prepared for separate High Court proceedings and ordered a new affidavit specific to the Magistrate's Court case.

Gunawardena is a suspect in a Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) case over allegations that he unlawfully accumulated assets worth more than Rs.300mn.
