The President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya, delivered a historic address at the Supreme Court of India during a delegation of Sri Lankan lawyers visiting India at the invitation of the Bar Association of India.

The event was presided over by the Honourable Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, along with Justices R. Mahadevan and Joymalya Bagchi. 

The Chief Justice warmly welcomed the Sri Lankan delegation, recalling his visit to Colombo last August and sharing fond memories, according to a statement from BASL.

Key Indian officials, including the Attorney General Hon. R. Venkataramani, Solicitor General Hon. Thushar Mehta, the President of the Bar Association of India Mr. Prashant Kumar, and the President of the Supreme Court Advocates Association, were present to greet and participate in the occasion.
