Prison Media Spokesperson A.C. Gajanayake stated that prison officers used the minimum force necessary to restore order after renewed clashes at Negombo Prison today(06).

He noted that authorities have regained control of the prison, additional security has been deployed, and steps are underway to transfer a number of inmates to other correctional facilities.
