The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has banned the purchase and use of single-use plastic water bottles in all state institutions with immediate effect.

A special circular issued by the ministry directs government agencies to stop buying disposable plastic water bottles and take steps to prevent the use of single-use plastics within their organisations.

Officials stated that the measure is aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting environmentally sustainable practices across the public sector.
