Police opened fire on a lorry suspected of illegally transporting cattle in Kattakaduwa, Hungama, this morning (20).

Hungama Police said officers set up a roadblock after receiving information on the transport of cattle.

The lorry allegedly ignored the checkpoint and attempted to flee, prompting a police pursuit.

Four suspects were arrested after the vehicle was stopped, and investigations are ongoing.
