Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha visited the ongoing hybrid renewable energy project in Delft Island on 03 June.
The USD 11 million project, funded by the Government of India, is being implemented in Delft, Analathivu and Nainathivu islands and will provide nearly 4.3 MW of power through a combination of solar, wind and diesel generation with battery backup.
During the visit, Jha reviewed the project's progress and noted that India remains committed to supporting Sri Lanka’s sustainable development through grant-funded initiatives benefiting local communities.
