A heat advisory has been issued for residents of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-Western provinces, as well as Monaragala District.

The heat index, which reflects the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to reach the ‘Caution Level’ tomorrow (11).

According to the Meteorological Department, the heat index is calculated based on relative humidity and maximum temperature.

Prolonged exposure to the sun and outdoor activities can cause fatigue and heat cramps. 

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities to stay safe during this period.
