The driver arrested over the fatal multi-vehicle crash in Mattakkuliya has tested positive for cannabis, police stated.

Three people were killed and 10 others seriously injured in the accident last night (16), when the car allegedly collided with three three-wheelers and four motorcycles.

The injured were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where three later succumbed to their injuries.

Mattakkuliya Police are conducting further investigations.
