Trains operating on the Main Line experienced delays yesterday (13) due to a derailment that occurred last morning, according to the Railway Control Room.

According to reports, two passenger train carriages of the Anuradhapura bound “Yal Devi” intercity express train have derailed near the Orugodawatta Railway bridge.

The Control Room stated however, that efforts were underway to place the derailed train back on the respective tracks.
