President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has called on Muslims to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting equality, justice, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

In his Milad-un-Nabi message, the President stressed the importance of building a society based on justice, equal treatment and respect for all communities.

He also linked the Prophet’s teachings to efforts to strengthen social values and combat harmful influences, including illicit drugs.

The 42nd National Milad-un-Nabi celebration is being held today at Al-Hilal College in Periyamulla, Negombo, under the patronage of President Dissanayake.
