The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers at times in the Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Rainfall above 75mm is likely in some areas of Sabaragamuwa Province and the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Strong winds of 40–50 km/h are also expected at times in the North Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North Western provinces.

The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
