15 Sri Lankans who were rescued from cybercrime camps in Myawaddy, Myanmar, have been successfully repatriated.
They were stranded for nearly two months at a temporary shelter in Myanmar after being denied permission to cross into Thailand via the Myanmar–Thailand border.
Accordingly, the group was escorted to Thailand this week following a diplomatic intervention by the Sri Lankan embassies in Myanmar and Thailand and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand.
