The Cabinet has approved the urgent purchase of 1,000 TKR (Total Knee Replacement) component kits from Zimmer Pte Ltd., with a 2% discount on the bid price.

This follows an international competitive bidding process in which Zimmer was the sole bidder for 3,000 kits designed for highly flexible knee replacements.

Due to limited participation, the High Level Standing Procurement Committee recommended purchasing only 1,000 kits for immediate needs.

The remaining 2,000 kits will be procured through a new round of limited international competitive bidding among National Medicines Regulatory Authority-registered suppliers.
