The Welfare Benefits Board has warned the public about fraudulent phone calls targeting Aswesuma beneficiaries, with scammers impersonating Board officials to obtain money.

According to the Board, callers falsely claim they are updating beneficiary information or use other pretexts to request payments from recipients.

Beneficiaries have been urged not to make any payments, and to report such incidents to the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Field officers have also been instructed to remain vigilant.
