The Colombo High Court was told yesterday (15) that Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, had received approximately Rs 5.15 million in salaries during his service in the Sri Lanka Navy, excluding allowances.

The amount was disclosed by a Naval officer who testified during the hearing of the money laundering case filed against Rajapaksa under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The case was taken up before High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga, during which evidence was recorded from prosecution witnesses.

The Court postponed the further hearing of evidence until 30 October.
