Former Ceylon Petroleum Corporation chairman Dammika Ranatunga, arrested earlier today(15) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, has been granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
After considering submissions from the Bribery Commission and defence counsel, Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered his release on bail.
The commission informed court that it intends to arrest former petroleum minister Arjuna Ranatunga in connection with the same investigation and present him as a suspect.
