Sri Lanka has deployed 3,575 workers to Israel’s construction sector this year under the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries.
A group of 77 job seekers was officially sent on 18 November at a ceremony led by Sri Lanka Bureau Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe.
Another 152 workers are set to depart later in November, followed by 464 in early December.
So far, 252 Sri Lankans have secured positions in Israel’s construction infrastructure sub-sector, with 34 more preparing to leave.
The Bureau noted a rising trend of skilled Sri Lankans pursuing high-paying jobs in new markets, with Israel becoming an increasingly attractive destination.
