Two suspects have been arrested in Kindelpitiya while transporting around 27,000 millilitres of illicit liquor valued at approximately Rs. 1 million.

Police also seized the luxury car used to transport the liquor, which had been packed in eight polythene sacks.

The suspects, residents of Galthude and Hirana in Panadura, were produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty.

Bandaragama Police are conducting further investigations.
