Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte and his wife were produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court (MC) today (7) in connection with the illegal use of a luxury car that was allegedly imported and assembled unlawfully.

The former Minister was initially arrested in Kandy on 31 October and remanded by the Nugegoda Additional Magistrate. He was admitted to the prison hospital due to illness on 2 November and later transferred to Colombo National Hospital.

His wife, Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, was also arrested on 4 November after appearing in court as ordered and was remanded until today.
