The holiday season arrived in style at DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort with its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony held on 16 December. The event, held in the resort’s luxurious lobby, was a heartwarming affair that beautifully set the tone for the festive season.
Graced by Hotel-in-Charge Dayan Nawagamuwa, along with the resort staff, cherished guests, and members of the local community, the evening celebrated joy, unity, and the spirit of giving. Adding a touch of solemnity and blessing to the occasion, Rev. Fr. Asiri de Silva, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Hambantota, and the Reverend Sisters of the Holy Angels Convent were present to usher in the holiday spirit.

Today (24), the resort is set to transform into a haven of festive indulgence with its Grand Christmas Gala. Taking place at the Festive Arena from 8 p.m. onwards, the gala promises a night of culinary delights and enchanting entertainment.
Guests can look forward to a lavish feast featuring gourmet offerings such as salmon gravlax, a seafood tower, and the classic Yule log. The evening will also feature live carols to set the mood, surprises from Santa, and vibrant performances by the musical band Rock the Beat, followed by a DJ set that will keep the celebrations going late into the night.
