Gold prices in Sri Lanka have risen, following a significant increase in the world market.
The global price of gold increased by $4,238 as of today(01).
This has caused a local surge of approximately Rs. 2,000 within the day.
The price of a 22-carat gold sovereign in the Colombo Pettah gold market is now Rs. 314,700.
Meanwhile, a 24-carat gold sovereign has risen from Rs. 336,000 on 25 November to Rs. 342,000, marking a Rs. 5,500 increase over the week.
