The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has announced plans to construct a new fuel pipeline connecting the Kolonnawa petroleum storage terminal to the Colombo Port.

According to CEYPETCO Managing Director Dr. Mayura Neththikumara, the decision was made to replace the existing six-kilometer pipeline, which was built in the 1940s and has been suffering from frequent leaks. 

The new pipeline is aimed at modernizing the country's fuel transport infrastructure.
