Meetiyagoda Police have arrested two youths in connection with an attempted shooting at Kahawa Junction in Ambalangoda on 21 September.

The suspects, aged 19 and 22, were arrested in the Batapola Police Division. Police stated that they allegedly acted as the rider and shooter on the motorcycle used in the incident.

A pistol, 10 rounds of live ammunition, the motorcycle and two safety helmets were recovered.

The suspects are to be handed over to Ambalangoda Police for further investigations.
