The operators of private passenger buses in Jaffna had withdrawn from passenger transport services yesterday (29) morning.

The commuters were severely inconvenienced as both long- and short-distance private passenger buses had joined the strike action.

The strike action was reportedly launched demanding a permanent bus stand for the private passenger buses in Jaffna.

Meanwhile, the striking private bus operators also held a demonstration in front of the Jaffna bus depot.
