The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northern and North Central provinces, and the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

The advisory is in effect until 3.30 p.m. tomorrow (04).

Winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times in the affected areas due to active south-west monsoon conditions.

The public has been advised to stay alert for further weather updates and advisories.
