Amendments to three key laws governing local authorities are in their final stage, Deputy Minister Ruwan Senarath stated.

The laws cover Municipal Councils, Urban Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas.

Cabinet approval has also been granted to amend seven other local government laws, with outdated provisions to be removed.
